Looking for a trusted plumber in Katy, TX?

Katy Texas Master Plumbers

3 important things to look for when finding a good plumber

When it comes to your home, the person you find to service things like your plumbing, air conditioning and other major parts can have dramatic effects on the safety and comfort of you and your family.  Finding a good plumber is one of those items.  Your plumbing is a very important part of your home and less than expert repairs and installations can cause hundreds and thousands of dollars in repair costs.  Here are five things to look for when choosing a local Katy, TX plumber:

1. Check local reviews

One easy thing you can do is check and read through reviews on local review sites like their Google Business Profile, Yelp, the Better Business Bureau to name a few.  Perfect 5.0 scores over several hundred reviews may seem suspect but the sweet spot to look for is a rating between 4.2 and 4.8 out of five stars.  Take time to read some of the reviews.  It is fairly easy to tell if they are legitimate reviews.

2. Hire a plumber with experience and qualifications

You can easily go to the Texas licensing website and search for a valid Master Plumber license.  A plumber should be properly licensed and qualified to work on your home plumbing systems.  In addition to licensing, ensure that the plumber has plenty of real world experience.  Mercy Plumbing has been working on residential and commercial plumbing since 2011.

3. Ask questions

A quality plumber will have a wealth of information about your plumbing job.  Ask plenty of questions so that you can get a feel if the plumber is knowledgeable about your particular plumbing problem.  Even if you do not know anything about plumbing, most people can get a feel for when the professional is being honest and knowledgeable about the job.  Some questions include:

  • How long have you been in business?
  • Are you a licensed plumber?
  • Have you done similar projects in the past?
  • Do you offer up-front pricing?
  • Will I get a detailed quote?
  • Do you guarantee your work?
